The Center for Multimedia Endocrine Technology is devoted to bringing cutting edge software and multimedia technology to the practice and application of Endocrinology.
The latest incarnation of this is an HTML5 game called Carb Wars. This game leverages HTML5 and javascript in order to create a game environment that can eventually be played on multiple platforms including the iPad and mobile devices.
The goal of the Center is to use technology to augment learning about Endocrine disease, both for the patient and the clinician or medical student. The Center also believes strongly that existing Electronic Health Record software is geared primarily towards business and public health interests for the purpose of mining group data, rather than being used to enhance individual patient care.
The Center is devoted to creating a new paradigm for the Electronic Medical Record that is designed to enhance the work-flow for physicians and nurses and other health care professionals leading to better, more efficient patient care.
